Letter to our home
Although the hills began to yellow for the sudden arrival of autumn, that day they were winking at us, perhaps already knowing that we would meet… Do you remember that day?
We often talk about this and we cannot suppress a smile when we recall the joy but also the anxiety of a sudden choice, rational and conscious, but no less troubled. But it was worth it, we continue to repeat, convinced.
You know, sometimes it is very difficult to make definitive choices, but not that day: it took a moment, just a glance. We have felt welcome and at all costs you wanted us to know you better, despite everything. Yes, despite everything, because at that time – we remember this well – the mood of resignation and sadness in your empty eyes for being left alone for so long it hit our heart. You who were always full of life, now abandoned and forgotten, your favorite corners dark and dirty, your garden wild and gloomy!
A moment has been enough… and we’ve adopted you, then looked after you with infinite devotion and genuine love and once recovered, we’ve admired you with tears of happiness in our eyes.
More than three years have passed since then, our sweet home, and today you are reborn! You have character, you have personality, generously compensating us with your beauty. Today, your soul shines with life and color, serenity and gentleness. Yours is the flavor of the past, of things made by loving hands. Your perfume fills the most secret corners and there inebriate us every morning when we wake up, the sweet sound of your voice lulls us into the dark nights. Thank you!
Our sweet home, since then part of us and now part of the family, silent witness of our lives. You will be the touching emblem of our love, you will be the family photo that brings back memories… and stories to be told tomorrow to those who will listen, because you are our home and you will survive us.
